A visit to Watkins Glen would not be complete without venturing to the shores of Seneca Lake. Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, Seneca Lake is one of the largest, deepest and most centrally located of the 11 glacier-carved lakes. A traveler and local favorite, options for photography, swimming, sailing, dining, staying and more are abundant. Don’t miss the famed wooden pier, the stony breakwater and iconic red pier house. Not only is Watkins Glen known for racing, waterfalls and wineries, but water activities as well. WATER ACTIVITIES
In the heart of the Finger Lakes, Watkins Glen/Schuyler County has several options for the boating enthusiast. Visitors can take a sightseeing cruise during the day or enjoy a chartered dinner cruise at night. From individual to group excursions, you will be able to find a memorable experience on beautiful Seneca Lake and in the surrounding areas.
DYK: Schuyler County is home to FOUR lakes! Seneca, Cayuta, Lamoka and Waneta. This creates many more options and places to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, fishing, boating and other water activities! So spend some extra time to explore all of our lakes!

If you are looking for a place to swim, you can check out the following locations:

Clute Park, Watkins Glen - A public beach with access to swim in Seneca Lake; Fee: Cost of Parking

WATERFALLS
Take in the splendor of some of the most beautiful waterfalls in New York State right here in Schuyler County. The hikes are varying skill levels; Please exercise caution.
Watkins Glen State Park - State Route 14, Downtown Watkins Glen; There are approximately 19 waterfalls that cascade through the gorge. Unfortunately this is not handicap accessible.
Excelsior Gen Falls - State Route 414 North, just outside of the Village of Watkins Glen; This is a challenging hike and is not handicap accessible.
Twin Falls - Templar Road, Watkins Glen
Aunt Sarah's Falls - State Route 14, Montour Falls; This waterfall is along the roadside
Shequaga Falls - Genesee Street, Montour Falls; 160 foot waterfall that is along the roadside.
Deckertown Falls - Catlin Street (off of S. L'Hommedieu Street), Montour Falls
Havana Glen Gorge/Eagle Cliff Falls - Havana Glen Road (off of State Route 14); This is a somewhat challenging hike that is not handicap accessible.
Hector Falls - State Route 414 N, Hector; 165 foot roadside waterfall
