For over 100 years, your Chamber has represented its membership in the education, advancement and expansion of businesses in and around Schuyler County. Over those years, Chamber leadership has been committed to the mission of the Chamber … that being that “the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to being the community’s leading business organization representing its membership in the preservation and promotion of economic, cultural and recreational excellence. “

Chamber membership is an investment in your future. We invite you to join our dynamic team because you will reap benefits from your membership that are invaluable and not available elsewhere. Some of those benefits are intangible benefits and others are quite tangible.

Our membership is currently at 340; representing 23 different categories of commerce. Our current Chamber retention rate is 91% (National average is 84%). We are governed by a 18 member Board of Directors who work diligently to assure that the membership is offered with quality programs on issues of importance to the business community and to ensure the member that there is a return on investment.
 

In addition to the many benefits of the chamber membership, the chamber also has a team of working committees supporting it;
 

with committee chairs who are focused on bringing meaningful programs to our members. The Business and Education Committee hosts monthly Eggs at Eight breakfast roundtables; our Government Affairs Committee is focused on keeping abreast of local, state and federal legislative issues that may affect the Schuyler County business community; our Tourism and Marketing Committee is dedicated to county-wide, state, regional and national promotion of our very special area; our Membership Committee promotes the Chamber to potential investors and encourages continued participation from current members; and the staff is committed to featuring well-organized, well-attended events throughout the year, i.e., the annual Golf Tournament, the Annual Chamber Celebration, sizzling monthly Mixers and the Summer Fundraiser.

 

The Chamber of Commerce also houses the official Visitors Center for Schuyler County.

The center welcomes thousands of visitors each year that are here to experience our top attractions that make the area so famous!
