Networking is getting out and about, meeting your fellow Chamber members, learning about their businesses... and telling them about yours! Networking is more than just making introductions, it's about making connections. Here are a few opportunities:
Monthly After Hours Mixers
After Hours Mixers take place on the third Wednesday of every month from 5-7pm at varying locations. 2016 After Hours Mixers have been generously sponsored by Chemung Canal Trust Company, so there is no fee to attend! To RSVP for a mixer or more information, please give us a call at 607-535-4300 or email Katie Strawser.
The Brochure Exchange is an annual event which takes place in late March each year at the Watkins Glen Community Center. This event offers a highly effective and incredibly convenient way for Chamber members to promote their businesses and network with fellow members, as well as stock up on tourism-related brochures before summer. During this event members share promotional materials, brochures, and rack cards with the Chamber as well as with one another. In other words, this is a wonderful event for one-stop-shop distribution! If you are interested in the Brochure Exchange, please contact us or email Katie Strawser.
The Annual Business Expo takes place on the third Wednesday of April each year. The Business Expo begins with The Showcase, which is free to attend and open to the public from 4:00-5:00pm. During this time participants and attendees have the opportunity to network, build new business relationships, and learn from vendors that provide unique products and services to help grow their businesses.
At 5pm the event transitions in the Chamber's monthly After Hours Mixer with a cash prize drawing, as well as raffles from each participating vendor business or organization. For booth availability, please contact the Chamber at 607-535-4300 or email Katie Strawser.
Health & Wellness Fair
On June 11, 2016, the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with Cayuga Health System to host the first annual Health and Wellness Fair in Watkins Glen. This event brought together local businesses, organizations, and health professionals of all kinds to offer free screenings, kid-friendly activities, health samples, and wellness-inspire products. There were also seminars on a wide array of topics including meditation, the health benefits of nature, and gentle yoga, among others. If you are interested in attending the 2017 Health & Wellness Fair, please give us a call at 607-535-4300 or email Katie Strawser.
