Effective 3/16/20 Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce events, seminars, conferences, and gatherings are all postponed. We anticipate re-scheduling these events when appropriate, and/or potentially leveraging videoconferencing to assist us. Networking is getting out and about, meeting your fellow Chamber members, learning about their businesses... and telling them about yours! Networking is more than just making introductions, it's about making connections. Here are a few opportunities to keep in mind:

Business Expo

The Annual Business Expo traditionally takes place in early April each year, usually from 4-7 pm at the Watkins Glen Community Center. It begins with The Showcase, which is free to attend and open to the public from 4-5 pm, then transitioning into our monthly After Hours Mixer. During The Showcase participants and attendees have the opportunity to network, build new business relationships, and learn from vendors that provide unique products and services to help grow their businesses. Community members are welcome and encouraged to attend! This is a great place to learn about all of the goods and services available to you right here in your backyard. Vendors are also able to sell their pre-packaged products! At 5 pm the event transitions into the Chamber's After Hours Mixer and all are welcome to attend! Networking, mixing, and mingling will continue, along with refreshments, a short program, and the opportunity to share your business announcements.

Brochure Exchange

All Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce tourism-based businesses are welcome to participate in our always-popular Brochure Exchange!

Where: Parking Lot of Lakeside Park at Clute Park
When: Friday morning, late April
What: Trunk-or-Treat style brochure exchange

This means you will pull your car in, pop your trunk or tailgate (which we encourage you to decorate), setup a table (if you want), hang your banners or signage, and really have fun with your space! Set-up typically begins at 8:30 am, and the event starts at 9:00 am, usually winding down near noon. We promise you’ll get a lot out of just a three and a half hour commitment!

This is your chance to pick up newest Schuyler County Travel Guide to share with visitors to your property, to exchange your brochures, rack cards and/or guides with fellow tourism-based businesses, stock your brochure racks for the season with area activities, attractions, accommodations, and more, and of course, to network with tourism industry colleagues. So many important connections are made at this event and we would love to see you there! Attendees include accommodations, wineries, restaurants, attractions, and more – all who are actively seeking materials to stock their brochure racks for the busy tourist season!

A benefit that the Chamber offers to both potential and current members! This is an unique spin on networking designed to help engage new members and build relationships.  Coffee Connections also provides one more avenue to teach the chamber staff how to be an expert on making referrals for your business. These networking opportunities will be held on the first Tuesday of every other month (beginning in February) from 9 am – 10 am. Kindly RSVP to Executive Director Rebekah  Carroll at (607) 535-4300. Summer Rendezvous
